Lake Canyon Device and Cell Phone Policy

Dear Lake Canyon Parents,
Here are the guidelines that we are asking parents and students to follow in relation to cell phones and
other electronic signaling while on campus (the time they enter the gate to the time they leave the
gate).
The use of cell phones and other electronic signaling devices, such as smart watches, during school
hours is strictly prohibited unless required for medical purposes that have been approved, in writing, by
a licensed physician and the use of which is limited to health-related purposes. (Education Code
48901.5)
The availability of classroom and office telephones to provide outside access in case of emergencies
eliminates the need for student operated cell phones or other communication devices during school
hours.
Cell phones should be off and put away in backpacks during school hours (7:30am-6:00pm).
Neither the district or its employees are responsible in any manner for their loss or damage.
